Piil published by Phaidon and Braun

Piil has been published in two international architecture books, including Summer Houses by Phaidon, about to be released in February 2026.

Summer Houses brings together a curated selection of contemporary retreats from around the world, documenting projects that explore architecture’s relationship with landscape, seasonal living, and retreat. Piil appears alongside work by internationally recognised architects, with the publication featuring the original full-scale prototype built in an Estonian forest.

Piil is also included in New Tiny Houses by Braun Publishing, a publication focused on compact dwellings that challenge conventional expectations of size, comfort, and spatial efficiency. The book presents Piil as part of a broader international movement towards carefully designed, small-scale architecture.

Both publications document the original Piil prototype — conceived and built as an architectural exploration. Since then, the design has been further refined and developed into a product that can now be delivered and assembled internationally, adapting the original concept to new sites and contexts.
